Paste one public video link
Copy the URL of the individual public TikTok video and paste it into Comment Exporter. Confirm that the returned creator and post are correct.

Load the available public comments
Load comments and keep the page open while ShortIntel follows public pagination and collects available replies within its safety limits. When ready, select CSV or XLSX before downloading.

Open the workbook's Export Info sheet to compare source-reported totals, fetched rows, reply counts, page requests, and the reason collection stopped.

Review Comments and Replies
Use the Comments and Replies sheets for available IDs, account fields, text, likes, reply counts, and timestamps. Empty cells mean the source did not return that value.
Export TikTok Comments to Excel or CSV Without Losing IDs
Choose XLSX for an Excel workbook with separate Comments, Replies and Export Info sheets. Choose CSV for one combined table of collected main comments and replies. Both formats use the same collection, regardless of the search filter shown in the browser.
When importing CSV into Excel, choose UTF-8 and keep account IDs and comment IDs as text. Opening long numeric IDs as numbers can round them. Use the XLSX sample to check your spreadsheet workflow before spending a live analysis.
Why the Exported Comment Count Differs from TikTok
Compare reported source totals with exported_top_level_comments and exported_reply_bodies. Check top_level_complete, replies_complete and all_truncated_reasons before treating the file as a complete dataset.
A request, time or row limit can stop collection early. Even when the source cursor ends, private, deleted, filtered or restricted items may be absent, and displayed totals can include replies. Record the collection time with your analysis instead of calling a count mismatch a missing-file error.
Use Each XLSX Worksheet for a Different Check
Comments contains deduplicated top-level rows. Replies contains available reply bodies. Export Info documents the video source, collection totals, pages fetched, limits, and completion status.
Keeping status data separate from comment rows makes the workbook easier to audit and prevents a partial collection from looking complete by accident.
Understand Source Counts and Collection Limits
Each export is capped at 2,000 top-level comments, 2,000 reply bodies, 120 source page requests, or 45 seconds of collection. The first reached boundary is recorded in Export Info.
TikTok's displayed comment total can include replies, removed content, filtered content, or items the connected public source cannot return. A difference between the displayed total and workbook rows is therefore documented rather than hidden.
Know What Is and Is Not Stored
The XLSX file is generated in server memory and returned with no-store response headers. ShortIntel does not save the generated workbook to a database, object storage, or project history.
To reduce repeated paid source requests, recently fetched public comment results for the same video can be cached for about one hour. This source cache is separate from the downloaded XLSX file on your device.

Questions About TikTok Comment Exports
Can I export TikTok comments to Excel without converting CSV?
Yes. Select XLSX to download a workbook directly. Comments, Replies and Export Info are separate worksheets; you do not need to rename a CSV file to .xlsx.
Does exporting CSV include only the comments matching my search?
No. Display search and sorting do not change the collected rows exported in CSV or XLSX. Review the collection scope before using the file.
Does the XLSX contain every TikTok comment?
No. It contains the available public rows returned before the source ends or a recorded collection safety limit is reached.
Are replies included?
Available reply bodies are written to the Replies sheet. Export Info compares reported reply counts with the reply rows retrieved.
Why are some spreadsheet cells empty?
ShortIntel does not infer missing IDs, names, counts, or timestamps. An empty cell means the source did not return that field.
Does ShortIntel keep the downloaded XLSX?
No. The workbook is generated in server memory as a no-store response and is not saved to a database, object storage, or project history.
Export TikTok Comment Replies and Link Them to Main Comments
In XLSX, join parent_comment_id in Replies to comment_id in Comments. A reply count is not the same as a returned reply body. Blank fields mean the source did not supply a value.
For CSV, use the parent reference to distinguish main comments from replies. Save collection details separately because CSV has no Export Info worksheet. Neither format promises every reply ever posted.
